DOROTHY “DOT” EDWARDS
Dorothy “Dot” Edwards 81, passed away on Tuesday. July 10, 2007 after a long battle with cancer with her four daughters at her bedside at her Garden City residence. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Emmanuel County moving to Savannah at the age of 16. She lived most of her life in Savannah and more recently in Garden City. She was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Edwards was a very caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Aldon S. Edwards.
Surviving are, her daughters, Patsy Soper and husband, Jerry of Cumming, GA, Vicki Duke and husband, Don of Myrtle Beach, SC, Shirley Osborne and husband, Barry of Midway. GA, and Sharon Edwards of Garden City, GA; her brothers, Joe Stroud of Waycross, GA and Levy Stroud of Swainsboro, GA; her grandchildren, Jan Rogge, James Soper, Jennifer Marsh, Tina Parrish, Jessie Dangerfield and Daniel Adams. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will Friday, July 13, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
